Sex Suffers Where Safety Is Missing

COUPLES SHOULD CONSIDER THIS(THE DARK MOMENT)

The Dark Moments in Marriage

Understanding Seasons, Standing Together, and Trusting God Through Trials

Life is full of seasons. As humans—regardless of sex, age, tribe, height, or status—one thing remains true: the knowledge of truth and understanding the times and seasons we pass through in life helps us prepare, endure, and ultimately triumph.

Beloved, have you ever asked yourself:

> “Is there anything under the sun that is truly permanent?”

The answer is no. Everything under the sun changes with time. In marriage especially, there are seasons of joy and celebration… and there are dark moments.

๐ŸŒ‘ What Are the “Dark Moments” in Marriage?

Dark moments are not signs of failure or proof that God has abandoned a marriage. They are real-life challenges that come to test, strengthen, and refine couples.

These may include:

๐Ÿ’ธ Financial hardship (when expenses outweigh income)

๐Ÿค• Health issues (chronic illness, emotional trauma)

๐Ÿ‘ถ Barrenness or delays in childbearing

๐Ÿ  Disappointments, loss, joblessness, or broken dreams

Even couples who married young or kept themselves pure until marriage sometimes face unexpected challenges. That does not mean they sinned or missed it — it means life happened. And life is unpredictable.

---

๐Ÿ’” The Reality of Marriage

Many go into marriage thinking it’s all romance, flowers, and smiling photos. But true marriage is a covenant, not a fantasy.

We love saying things like:

> “I’m not born to suffer. I’m born to enjoy!”
“Marriage is sweet. I just want to be happy!”

And yes, no one is born to suffer. However, life sometimes permits seasons of hardship — not to destroy us, but to refine us. And for every couple who desires a loud testimony, there must be a real test.

> “No great testimony without great challenge.”

๐Ÿง  Are You Prepared for the Dark Moments?

Before you say "Yes" to that brother or sister, or even if you're already married — pause and ask:

Can we fight life battles together spiritually and physically?

Is this person someone I can cry, pray, fast, and grow with?

Am I committed only when things are rosy or also when the storms hit?

Can we face barrenness, job loss, or medical trials and still stand strong?

> “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” — Amos 3:3

Marriage is not for those who only want sunshine — it is for those who know that rain will come, but they are willing to hold hands and walk through the storm together.

๐Ÿ’ก What to Do When Dark Moments Come

1. Pray without ceasing – Be a praying couple, not just a complaining couple.

2. Be united – Marital battles are easier when husband and wife stand as one.

3. Stop blaming each other – Unity fades when partners blame instead of support.

4. Speak faith, not fear – Declare God’s Word daily even when reality looks bleak.

5. Live prepared – Don't expect storms, but be spiritually ready if they come.

6. Seek counsel and help – Talk to godly mentors, pastors, or Christian counselors.

7. Encourage each other – Speak life into your spouse. Be their peace and strength.

> “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” — Proverbs 3:5
“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.” — Ecclesiastes 3:1

✍️ A Word for Singles

Dear single brother or sister, don't let your emotions blind you before marriage. Before saying “Yes” to a proposal, look beyond the wedding day:

Can this person handle pressure?

Can they pray through pain?

Can they listen, learn, and fight life’s battles in faith?

Don’t choose a partner only for the happy days. Choose someone who can stand firm with you in the dark moments — who will say,

> “We will come out stronger… together.”

๐Ÿ™ A Prayer for Every Marriage

> Father, we thank You for every marriage represented here. We ask for the grace to stand strong through life’s seasons. Help couples stay united in love and in faith. May Your Spirit guide them through every storm and bring them to a place of victory and testimony.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
